Join YCLM for a tour of the Inuit Art Centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
The Inuit Art Centre is designed by Michael Maltzan Architecture, one of North America’s leading firms. Selected through an international architectural competition, Maltzan worked with local associate architect Cibinel Architecture Inc. and based the design on experiences meeting people in Northern Canada. The design is inspired by the landscapes, light, and peoples of the North, and reflects the forms and spirits of Inuit art. The world class building will be 40,000 square feet and will be the home for thousands of Inuit artworks – each one with stories to tell. Sharing these stories with the world is at the core of the WAG Inuit Art Centre project.
PCL, the general contractor for the project, will be taking us on the tour and will share some of the construction challenges to date and go over some of the unique features of the project. After the tour we will be going to The Good Will Social Club for drinks, appetizers and networking.
