Join YCLM for a site tour of the North End Water Pollution Control Centre (NEWPCC) on September 29.
The NEWPCC Headworks Upgrades includes the construction of three new tunnels to redirect sewage to a new 22m deep fully redundant sewage pump station. The sewage will be then pass through a set of four self-cleaning screens to remove large solids, and then pass through a set of 10 grit removal cells. The resulting effluent will then be returned to the existing treatment plant for final treatment. The project includes the construction of a back up generator building, a new control room, a solids handling facility, a new transformer yard and odor control.
Representatives from Red River Solutions, an Oscar Renda - AECON General Partnership will be on hand for the tour. Following the tour we’ll be heading to Brown’s Ridgecrest (2419 Main Street).

Cost: $25 (includes appetizers at networking event)
PPE: CSA hard hat, min. 6” high CSA safety boots, safety glasses, high visibility vest, pants, and gloves. Long sleeves on shirts. The site is very uneven and we recommend individuals with mobility impairment contact Robert Black directly for recommendations. Anyone with COVID symptoms in the last week please wear a medical mask.
