Site Tour: Perimeter Highway (PTH 100) & St. Mary’s Road (PR 200) Interchange Project

Join YCLM for a tour of the currently under construction overpass and highway reconfiguration at Winnipeg’s Perimeter Highway PTH 100 and St. Mary’s Road (PR 200). The tour will be hosted by the project contractor AECON and will include a guided walkthrough of the overpass bridge as well as focused discussion with site personnel on both the overpass structure and the civil work associated with the overpass and highway reconfiguration.

The St. Mary’s Interchange Project (SMI) is a Design-Build project that involves the upgrade of the signalized intersection between Provincial Trunk Highway (PTH) and Provincial Road (PR) 200 (St. Mary’s Road) to an overpass bridge structure. The project includes significant road and infrastructure upgrades to the existing PTH 100 and PR 200 in the region.

The project consists of the design and construction to upgrade PTH 100 and PR 200 intersection, including 4.2 km highway and 4 km provincial road reconstruction, 2.5 km on/off ramps, one bridge, one signalized intersection, interchange lighting, and drainage facilities. The overpass structure composed of a two-span bridge with 28 box girders. The scope of work includes earthworks, excavation, grading, environmental protection, landscaping, erosion and sediment control, granular base, paving, drainage management, bridge, culvert, traffic staging and signage.

At the time of the tour, the priority activities will be the completion of the remaining superstructure concrete and asphalt paving.
