Come out at join YCLM for a site tour of the nearly completed Southwest Rapid Transit (Stage 2) and Pembina Highway Underpass projects constructed by PCL Construction. These projects include approximately 7.6 km of dedicated Transitway connecting Pembina/Jubilee to Markham Road and to the University of Manitoba. The transitway and adjacent 4.5 meter active transportation path has several grade separate structures: Pembina Highway (CN and transitway structure); Portage Junction (two CN rail bridges); McGillivray; Letellier south of Chevrier; Bishop Grandin (transitway and active transportation); and Stadium Station. Design and construction started in summer 2016 and substantial completion is October 2019.
The site tour will focus on the Pembina Highway underpass and Portage Junction rail work including new Transitway over Pembina overpass, three new CN bridges, retaining walls along Pembina Highway and active transportation paths in the vicinity, and realigned CN Rail.
